Last week, we traveled to North Carolina for Erin & Rob’s downtown Charlotte wedding at St. Mary’s Chapel. They chose this charming and historic venue because it was the same place where Erin’s parents said “I do!”

They continued to showcase the Queen City with a cocktail style reception at the Levine Museum of the New South. We stole them to do some evening photos with the city in the background before they came dancing down the grand staircase of the museum to be greeted by their guests.

Although everyone came together to celebrate Erin & Rob’s wedding day, the newlyweds decided to honor all of the married guests. They had a wall with wedding photos from each of the married couples in attendance. They also used the cake topper from Erin’s parents’ wedding! It was a beautiful way to recognize and honor their guests!

The dance floor was packed the entire evening, and it was bittersweet as everyone joined in for the last song – “Good Life” by One Republic. As they exited through a path of sparklers, it was a perfect end to the perfect wedding day! Now that the newlyweds have returned from their honeymoon, we hope that you enjoy these highlights from their wedding day, especially the slideshow at the end! : )

Because they had an evening wedding, Erin & Rob decided to do a first look. Erin boarded a train and traveled to the station where Rob was anxiously waiting to see his bride!

We are so excited to share that Sammy & Allen’s was recently featured on the California Wedding Wave! We love the way that they presented the images, and it was one of our favorite weddings to shoot! We’re looking forward to shooting another wedding at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Chino Hills next month, and we’ll get to see Sammy & Allen and some of our other California friends at the same time!

Thank you so much to Andie for the feature! : )

We had such a great time yesterday shooting Erin & Rob’s wedding at St. Mary’s Chapel and reception at the Levine Museum of the New South. We can’t wait to share more of their downtown Charlotte wedding photos when they return from their honeymoon next week, but until then here’s a sneak peek of their big day!

Over the weekend, Jessica & Jeff’s wedding in downtown Nashville was featured on the Hi-Fi Weddings blog, a site that focuses on one of the best parts of a wedding – THE MUSIC!

Since Jessi & Jeff met while working in the music industry, got married in Music City, and had their wedding themed around music (live music, a guitar guestbook, backstage pass Save The Date, concert ticket invitation/RSVP card, and more) what better fit for their wedding than Hi-Fi Weddings!

It’s hard to believe that exactly one year ago today we were watching these two lovebirds say “I DO” on a rooftop in Nashville! Yes, today is there one year anniversary!! Congratulations to you both, and
a huge thank you to Ashley for featuring their wedding! What a way to celebrate the memory of that day!

We love you guys! : )

It all started with a girl trying to catch the eye of a shy guy across the room. And that guy not believing that the pretty girl would be looking at him. But that’s how the story of Meredith and Mark got started. Mark would ask his friends, “Is that girl checking me out” and they would always tell him “No way!” Eventually, Mark got over his shyness and he and Meredith started down the path to their Happily Ever After.

Now that they live in Maine, Meredith & Mark wanted to plan a gorgeous seacoast-style wedding. They chose the beautiful First Parish Congregational Church in Saco, ME for their ceremony. The church has giant windows that let in the most gorgeous light and a huge vaulted ceiling. Mark started the processional by carrying in their baby girl, Blake, before awaiting his bride-to-be. And as Meredith was escorted by her father and throughout the ceremony, she was all smiles, knowing that she was finally marrying her soulmate! She could hardly contain herself. It was so cute to watch.

The entire wedding party and immediate family hopped onto a trolley after the ceremony to go to a nearby spot for group photos. To help Meredith & Mark get some time to themselves, we took them for a little walk down a path between huge, overarching trees and let them take everything in. It was great to see both of them relax and enjoy the feeling of being married. And despite being a little nervous, Mark pulled off a perfect dip with Meredith!

For the reception, they chose the charming Village By The Sea in Wells, ME, which also happened to be where they both got ready for their wedding day. Their first dance was so lovely and tender, followed by two of the most emotional toasts we’ve ever seen by the Maid of Honor and Best Man. Everyone had tears in their eyes by the end! With music provided by BTE Entertainment, the rest of the evening was one big celebration!

We’re so excited to share Meredith & Mark’s wedding photos and we wish them nothing but the very best as they and Blake continue their journey as an amazing family! Best wishes and thank you for making us a part of your special day!

We are just amazed right now as we reflect on Meredith & Mark’s wedding. It was such a smooth day! The weather was beautiful, everything was on schedule (ahead of schedule, even!), and everyone partied like there was no tomorrow! It was a day that no one took for granted, as friends and family traveled to the coast of Maine while Hurricane Irene made its way up the East Coast.

But if you knew Meredith & Mark, you would do anything to be there for their special day, too! They are so devoted to their friends and family, and they are just quirky and upbeat and fun to be around! If we could go back in time and do it all over again, we’d still go through all the challenges of traveling through a crazy, unpredictable hurricane to be here for their wedding! Without a doubt!

Congratulations and many blessings to you both (and sweet Baby Blake)! : )

We hope that you’ve enjoyed Part I of Alexis & Matt’s destination wedding in Telluride! It’s funny to read the comments on the blog and on our Facebook page saying how the setting is so beautiful that it doesn’t even look real! We always hope that a wedding day turns out perfect, but this really was the perfect wedding. Alexis & Matt deserve it so much, because they really are amazing people!

And they are surrounded by wonderful people, too! We first met Matt when he was part of Stephanie & Dave’s St. Augustine wedding last year! We were so excited to see them again, and we took the opportunity to get a pic with Alexis, Matt, Stephanie, and Dave at the end of the night (see below)!

There were so many great moments from Alexis and Matt’s reception at Allred’s. From heartfelt and funny speeches to the party atmosphere created by Denver-based live band Deja Blu, the whole evening was filled with moments to remember! One thing we’ll never forget is the cake cutting. Instead of having a single wedding cake that they cut, Alexis decided to have 18 unique mini-cakes from Telluride Truffle spread amongst all the tables, including one on their own. Each cake had a cake cutting set and the cakes were cut during a communal cake cutting. Afterwards, guests could move from table to table, sampling the other cakes and starting up conversations. What an amazing idea and a great way to involve everyone at the reception!

It was bittersweet to see the evening come to an end, but it was a day that will not be forgotten! Kudos to Soiree Telluride for making Alexis & Matt’s vision a reality and for making the day run so seamlessly! And a HUGE thank you to Alexis & Matt for choosing us to capture their amazing wedding! It was an honor to be part of your day, and we wish you both all the best! : )

Whenever people ask what has been our favorite place to shoot, we’re never sure what to say. There are so many venues and cities that we love, and we have wonderful memories of them all. But now when people ask, we will say Telluride – hands down!

It’s easy to see why Alexis & Matt chose to have their destination wedding in Telluride. The town is historic, charming, and the people are friendly. It’s surrounded by mountains, perfect for hiking and bike riding in the summer and skiing in the winter. It’s the kind of place that you look around, in awe of its beauty, and you know that God must have smiled after it was created! It’s a natural work of art!

There’s something very sacred about saying your vows from 10,000 feet. Like you are literally proclaiming from the mountaintops for all the world to hear – “I do!”

Alexis and Matt’s wedding was one of those events where everything just seemed to come together. The decor was amazing, the 18 miniature cakes were so unique and special, the planner was fantastic, and best of all, the threat of rain never materialized, allowing the wedding to proceed outside at the St. Sophia overlook, maybe one of the most majestic views anyone will ever see.

The best part, though, was the people. Everyone had a great time helping celebrate Alexis and Matt’s union. They enjoyed fine food, drinks, and dancing to the sounds of Deja Blu at the rustic-chic Allred’s Restaurant, which itself had a great view of the mountains and Telluride.

When Alexis and Matt finally disembarked from the gondola back at the base of the mountain, everyone was waiting to give them one last cheer and a rousing send-off to finish off a spectacular day.

With Alexis and Matt back from their surprise honeymoon (Matt didn’t tell Alexis where he was taking her!), we know they’re anxious to see their photos! So please enjoy Part I of their amazing destination wedding and be sure to come back for Part II tomorrow!

We always tell people how much we adore the small, intimate destination weddings some people plan. There’s always something so special and personal when a couple chooses to share their special day with a small group of family and friends. Courtney and Brody departed from Arkansas to get married on the beautiful beaches of Florida’s Emerald Coast!

We loved all the personal details, including Courtney’s gorgeous bouquet, borrowed jewelry and mementos, and creative pieces found on Etsy. One of my favorite parts was doing some ring shots on top of Brody’s fireman’s coat and helmet.

While Gwen and the ladies hung out, getting hair and makeup done, I met up with Brody for his getting ready photos at another house. When I arrived, I managed to catch him helping change baby Collin. The room had such gorgeous light and what was supposed to be getting ready photos quickly turned into a mini-baby photo session. Collin is an adorable little guy and it was so fun seeing proud daddy Brody help get Collin ready for the wedding.

Courtney made for a gorgeous bride and you could see how captivated Brody was when she walked down the stairs and aisle towards him. After a quick but beautiful ceremony, we took some family photos on the beach before getting Courtney and Brody alone to let them enjoy being newlyweds in front of a setting sun. They have such a natural chemistry and the fading sunlight made for the perfect backdrop.

Our time with Courtney and Brody was all too short and we sincerely hope to meet up with them again on their next trip to Florida, but in the meantime, we feel so blessed and honored that they picked us to help capture such a meaningful day in their lives!

Courtney and Brody (and Collin), best wishes to you! : )

On a few rare occasions, we don’t get to meet some of our couples before their big day. Such was the case with Courtney and Brody, who traveled from Arkansas for a destination wedding in sunny Seaside, FL with their closest friends and family. Luckily, we arrived a day early and found some time to meet up with Courtney and Brody for a little “get-to-know-you” session. We walked around the fun and quaint little town of Seaside, with it’s central square, cute little restaurants and shops, historic post office, and a fun row of old airstream trailers that had been converted into restaurants. One in particular, Frost Bites, sold very tasty shaved ice and root beers float and its owner was so amazing in letting Courtney and Brody come inside for a fun photo!

We eventually found a quiet green nearby where Courtney and Brody’s playful side came out. They did a lot of hugging and flirting with each other. We even found the coolest little wall that perfectly matched their outfits!

We always tell couples how an engagement session really helps us get to know them and their style and we were so thankful that Courtney and Brody gave us some time amidst all their wedding planning to let us get to know them. And of course, knowing how they were as a couple in front of a camera really came in handy the next day during their gorgeous wedding. But you’ll have to come back to catch their gorgeous destination wedding photos!
