We often feel a strong connection with the brides and grooms who contact us, but every once in a while I read an email that just makes me say “There’s no way this is just a coincidence.” Late one night, I received an email from Stacey that was so incredible, it almost knocked me out of my chair!

I won’t get into the entire story, but let’s just say that somehow Stacey came across our blog, and of all the places in the world where she could live it happens to be 2 minutes from where Matt’s parents live. And at the time she emailed me, she had no idea that we lived in Florida and that we had a Middletown, CT connection!

Stacey also didn’t know that in a couple weeks we would be going to Middletown for the holidays! After an exchange of… well, more emails than I can count… we decided to meet up with them during our trip for an engagement session. Stacey & Adam are two of the sweetest people we’ve met, and we were fortunate that fate brought them in contact with us! We braved the elements to take photos at Wesleyan University, using some of the old buildings on campus. But really, it was all about Stacey and Adam, who have no qualms about snuggling up and sharing some kisses!

We took a break to warm up at the Tavern Inn with some drinks and a few casual photos before heading out again to The Barns at Wesleyan Hills to take advantage of the fading light. The Barns overlooks a pond with some little islands with great big trees and beautiful bridges. The setting sun created warm tones on the bare trees while Stacey & Adam kept each other warm.

Stacey & Adam are such a warm, friendly couple who instantly put you at ease. It felt like we had known them for years! Thank you both for an amazing time! It was one of the highlights of our trip to Connecticut!

We always love when a bride has a vision for her engagement session, and Erin definitely had some great ideas. She and Jason love boating and being on the water, but they also love dressing up and channeling their inner chic. Having their engagement session in downtown Jacksonville allowed us to capture both styles without having to drive 45 minutes between locations!

We started off walking along the St John’s River at the Jacksonville Landing, with the golden sun shining off the water and the Main Street bridge overhead. We eventually found some places for Erin and Jason to snuggle up together. They have such a natural chemistry and they had no problem getting close.

With the sun starting to set, Erin and Jason changed into their evening outfits, with Erin rocking an amazing black dress and Jason in a sharp black pinstripe suit. As we walked around the downtown, we found an amazing alleyway that let Erin and Jason show off their best model poses.

We ended the session with some fun night shots of the city and the Main Street Bridge.

We’re so excited for Erin and Jason’s wedding this spring. They’re so sweet and fun to hang out with, and if their engagement photos are any indication we can definitely expect a very stylish and beautiful wedding!

Matt and I just got home from our road trip to Connecticut for Christmas (yes, I said road trip – and it’s a long one!). But we enjoyed the cold weather and during our trip we got to meet up with a truly amazing couple for an engagement session! I can’t wait to tell you who Stacey & Adam are and a little about how we met, but before I get some much needed sleep I had to post a sneak peek! More to come next week! : )

Yesterday we met up with Erin & Jason for their engagement photos in downtown Jacksonville, and all I can’t wait to share them because they are so hot! Erin & Jason just rocked the entire session! It was so hard to choose a photo for the sneak peek, but Matt and I both loved this one. I’m sure I will have 20 different favorites before I’m done editing these!

December is such a gorgeous time for engagement photos in Florida! On the day we met up with Hannah & Mark for their engagement photos at Big Talbot Island, it had been foggy and chilly most of the morning. But by the time we reached this gorgeous state park, the weather couldn’t have been better!

Hannah & Mark are new to north Florida, so we wanted to bring them to a place that is truly one of this area’s treasures. Big Talbot is pristine and untainted, and the landscape on the beach is unlike any other! Such a unique setting was perfect for this adorable couple. They were so natural, playful, and sweet together and we had so much fun hanging out with them and watching how excited they are about celebrating their engagement! If only we could bottle up all that love and share it with the whole world! Everyone should be this happy and in love!

We may not be able to contain their joy in a bottle, but hopefully their sweet smiles will brighten your day! Hannah & Mark, we hope that every day is filled with this much happiness in your lives! : )

Over Thanksgiving weekend, we met up with Rachel & Dylan (and sweet baby Emma) for some engagement photos in downtown Columbus, GA. They are the cutest little family, and the charming town of Columbus was such a great setting for their shoot! We fell in love with the old buildings that have been lovingly re-purposed for high end condos, businesses, and shops in the downtown area. We were in awe of the dam and pumphouse, with tons of water pouring out into the river (which, by the way, is the cleanest river I think I have ever seen). It was a great setting to get to know more about Rachel & Dylan and the adorable city that they now call home!

We love everything about this session! Rachel & Dylan are so cute together, and the distressed walls of the old mills and the vintage blue bus were a photographer’s dream! We can’t wait to see you both again next spring for your sunny Florida destination wedding!! : )

Anyone who was outside on Sunday knows that it turned out to be a beautiful day, and it was perfect for Hannah & Mark’s engagement session! This adorable couple is fairly new to the area, so we’re glad that they got to see one of those amazing December days in Florida where the weather is in the 70s! Remembering days like this one will make you appreciate Florida during the brutal summer months! : )

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent the past few days at a cabin in Georgia spending time with our puppies, but during our trip we also met up with Rachel & Dylan for some engagement photos in downtown Columbus! Leigh Anne & Patrick recently came down from Raleigh to finalize plans for their St. Augustine wedding at the White Room later this month, and we met up with them for some engagement photos! We knew they were adorable, but after walking through downtown St. Augustine with them we realized just how perfect they are together! They were constantly cuddly, full of smiles, and they clearly can’t wait to be married! Leigh Anne scheduled her hair and makeup trial with our friend Faythe Mesic, and she looked incredible! Patrick couldn’t keep his eyes off her, and Leigh Anne couldn’t stop checking out her adorable fiance, either! We are really looking forward to their gorgeous rooftop wedding! As we walked through the streets of downtown St. Augustine, we talked about their wedding day, and it’s one you definitely won’t want to miss! : )

Leigh Anne & Patrick chose the right weekend for a trip to Florida! They drove down from Raleigh, NC to finalize plans for their St. Augustine wedding at The White Room next month and the weather couldn’t have been better for their engagement session! This morning, Leigh Anne had a hair and makeup trial with our friend Faythe at A Glamour Bride, and was absolutely radiant! In fact, Patrick couldn’t keep his eyes off her!
