Earlier this year, Matt did an album cover shoot with his talented friend and coworker, Jay Chu. Jay is an incredibly talented musician, singer, and songwriter and he is launching his first EP at an album release party this weekend! The show is on Saturday, September 20th at 3:30pm at Tin Roof in the Gaslamp. You can find more information by visiting his website (http://www.jaychumusic.com/). While you’re at it, go ahead and give his page a like: Jay Chu Music Fan Page
The album is called Change, and it features a combination of still images shot by Matt and artwork by Pol Sena using Matt’s shots as inspiration. It’s so awesome to see Jay’s vision come to life, and I love how the photos and artwork represent what the album is about! You can listen to the music on Jay’s website, but hopefully you’ll make it out to his show! If you do, make sure to find us and say hello!
Nattaya & Zachary’s beautiful wedding at the Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center in Fallbrook was perfection! I think it’s safe to say we had a really fun time shooting this one! The details were gorgeous, the wedding party was awesome, and our couple couldn’t have been more in love and excited to marry each other! They were so overwhelmed with emotion that they hugged each other in the middle of the ceremony. It was so sweet!
The reception was one huge party as everyone danced, visited with friends and family, and jumped into the photobooth. We took the newlyweds outside for a few more photos and a very memorable view of the amazing supermoon that graced the sky on this incredibly special day! I don’t see how this day could have been any better. It was amazing from start to finish!
One of the images I shot from a shoot earlier this year with model Kaite Dent was featured in Issue No. 1 of Kat Club Magazine by Retro Lovely! So excited to have this shot featured among so many other gorgeous images! Seriously, this magazine is full of pinup style loveliness! Thanks to Hair by Dianna Prince, who organized the shoot, and to Kat Club for the feature!
August has been a busy month for weddings, and it began with Gerilyn & Thomas and their beautiful wedding at The Dana on Mission Bay! What can we say that isn’t said in these photos? These two are one of the happiest and sweetest couples we’ve ever met! They immediately make your heart feel warm and fuzzy and put a smile on your face. They came out from Washington DC to have their destination wedding in beautiful San Diego. You know, the city where it’s always sunny. So when they woke up and saw overcast skies, these two stayed positive. They knew things would work out. It’s amazing what can happen with positive thinking, and sure enough they were able to have their wedding outside with a beautiful view of the bay in the background. Even as guests were arriving, there were still some sprinkles of rain, but that ended right before the ceremony was to begin. I didn’t feel a single drop during the entire ceremony, and as Gerilyn & Thomas walked out I felt a few drops. You can’t make this stuff up! We are so happy that everything worked out for these two, because they are an amazing couple and they deserved to have their dream wedding. I’m convinced that together they can make it through any storm that comes their way. : )
Summer has flown by, and yesterday we completed the last of our summer weddings with Trisha & Patrick’s beautiful destination wedding in Imperial Beach. Talk about a perfect wedding to end the summer with! It was a beautiful day hanging out in the sand with waves dancing in the background, and it ended with a beautiful sunset! Here’s a peek at their wedding day!
I’m so excited to finally share some images from my Carmen Miranda inspiration shoot with burlesque performer Dee V’ous of the Drop Dead Dames Burlesque Revue! Ms. Dee V’ous was cast as Carmen Miranda for the anniversary issue of TPG Magazine, which is available now! The magazine is filled with models paying tribute to famous Hollywood icons. It’s a pretty amazing collection of images, and I’m so thrilled to have been a part of it! Ms. Dee V’ous really captured the spirit and beauty of Carmen Miranda. She also made her outfit! Is there anything this gorgeous lady can’t do?
I really loved the images we got, but my favorites were in black and white. Dee V’ous is a classic beauty!
Last night we photographed Nattaya & Zachary’s gorgeous wedding at the Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center at the Golf Club of California in Fallbrook. I can’t wait to share all the pretty details and special moments from their day, but you know I always have to share a sneak peek first! Last evening’s super moon made for an amazing backdrop! Simply stunning!
I was so excited the other day to scroll through my news feed on Facebook and see Genevieve & Jim’s wedding photos posted by San Diego Style Weddings! Their wedding at the Hotel del Coronado was beyond beautiful, and we had the privilege of delivering their beautiful wedding album to them up in Sonoma last weekend! Talk about timing! : )
Last month, we witnessed the beautiful and very moving wedding celebration of Megan & Calvin! They held their wedding at The Prado in Balboa Park, and it was full of happy tears and lots of wedding pretties! Of course, any wedding at Balboa Park is going to be beautiful! It’s one of the most beautiful parks in the country, and a perfect setting to say “I do!” Add to that place a handsome groom and a gorgeous bride in a stunning Vera Wang gown and you have a celebration that is swoon-worthy! But what really made this day beautiful was all the emotion. I could tell about all of the sweet moments throughout the day, but the list is long, and I think the pictures tell the story better than I can! We had such an amazing time with them and their families, and I’m excited to share more of their wedding details! I hope it inspires you to hug someone and tell them you love them! : )
Good things happen when you believe! Though rain threatened the beautiful destination wedding that Gerilyn & Thomas had been dreaming of for the past year, they stayed positive and had faith that the rain would stop in time for their ceremony. Sure enough, the rain stopped just minutes before they walked down the aisle, and this sweet couple had the gorgeous wedding they deserved! Here’s a little preview!
